In a previous article, we discussed the then upcoming strategy meetingthat was to take place on the 10th of December. That is today, and we ateco-c.eu will be putting in a wish for many interesting new developments (whichwe pledge to keep you informed about on this very page). However, that is notall that is happening today.
According to reports, the tenth of December has been chosen as the righttime to host an ECo-C Social day; that is to say, a day during which representativesof ECo-C certified Traning Centres will be invited to Vienna under the auspicesof the Austrian branch, there to mingle with their fellows, get together, learnthe news from the continent and beyond… the works.
Among the top items of the Agenda are “national and international news”,which presumably means informing oneself on how the establishment of the ECo-Cin other countries is progressing. However, it could also cover furthersubjects, such as the participation of the certificate in awards likeEuroMedia, or (which we too have just heard), its involvement in support of theOasis Of Life project in Uganda; though the organisation itself has existedsince 2001, providing homes and education for 53 orphaned children, it now aimsto teach these basic business management skills and poultry farming, so as toallow the organisation to keep itself afloat with a small surplus, useful incase of crisis. Whether the ECo-C Social meeting will also include a fundraiserfor the latter project is not yet known.
On the whole… it could be seen as an opportunity for these hard-workingtrainers to let their hair down, although one could also call this a shrewdmove in terms of capacity and of pursuing specific goals; after all, these manydifferent representatives will have one thing in common only… that which theyrepresent, which will be the subject of discussion in a relaxed atmosphere, thebetter to make friends and tell stories. Or, as one might say in a moreprofessional setting, do some networking and share the experiences that madeone an expert.
Whetherthis tells us anything about the content of the planned strategy meeting or not…is anyone’s guess; could a networking module be in the works for Eco-C Advanced?Given that this is most definitely an important skill for any professional, itis entirely seemly and possible. Could a website to share experiences on thedrama arising from insufficient social competency (like the infamous FML orCoH) be in the works? Less likely, though it would be make for a wonderfuldidactic tool and read. Time will tell!
