At the beginningof June 2010, this website reported that the ECo-C was close to being launchedin Hungary.  While the due date for thelaunch is coming closer and closer, milestones on this path continue to bereached.

On Monday the26th of June, Prof. Sándor Bordás, appointed to serve as Academic Advisor for theHungarian ECo-C Hungary was in Vienna, attending an ECo-C certificationworkshop. Such workshops are required before the process can be completed andthe ECo-C made available to Hungarian customers and speakers. Their completionand execution is therefore a good and strong sign that the launch process is ontrack, that we will soon be able to report the appropriate success.

For the ECo-C,Hungary remains very much a „stress test“ , in the sense that it will be thesecond non-German-speaking country to adopt the certificate, as well asexpanding the certificate to a third linguistic unit. It will thus serve totruly enshrine the continent-wide scope of the certificate: although acceptedin theory, it will now be established in fact.

And as for therest? As reported in another recent article, the ECo-C is due to be launched inanother four countries before 2012; readers will therefore have the opportunityto anticipate these launches from reports of comings and goings and exchangesincreasing over the upcoming months.
